Impressive Warri Wolves smashed league leaders Kano Pillars 3-0 in a quarterfinal cup tie played at Kwara Township Stadium, Ilorin on Wednesday.

The Seasiders’ produced a scintillating performance to knock Pillars out of the Nigeria FA Cup. Three first half goals was all Warri Wolves needed to complete rout of league champions Kano Pillars.

Enterprising forward, Musa Najere scored in the 8th to give Wolves a shocking leading over Kano Pillars.

Najere completed his brace with another strike in the 20th minutes before Home-based Eagles forward Etebor Oghenekaro made it 3-0 in the 39th minute to dashed Pillars hope of a league and cup double.

The ‘Masu Gida’ team has never won the FA Cup since the club was founded in 1990 and will have to wait for another year to achieve their aim of winning the Cup.

Pillars will hope to bounce back when they welcome Akwa United in a Glo Premier League week 23 fixture at the Sanni Abacha Stadium, Kano on Saturday.
