3SC ace Gbolahan Salami has declared emphatically that he is not a bad boy of Nigerian football after he was suspended by the Oluyole Warriors for going AWOL.
“I am not a bad boy as people are meant to believe. I am an easygoing person, but the issue is that people always misunderstand me.
“In all the clubs that I have been to, I have always tried as much as possible to discharge my duties with all sense of responsibility, but people always misunderstand me to the fullest.
“Let me declare emphatically: I am not a bad boy.”
The Shooting Stars Sporting Club (3SC) forward expressed optimism that he would soon return to the senior national team.
“I was part of the team in the past, but since the new dispensation, I have not had the opportunity.
But I think all I need is to continue playing well, and within the shortest possible time, I will be recalled.”
3SC are in the relegation zone, 17th with 27 points from 23 games and will welcome league leaders Kano Pillars in a Glo Nigerian Premier League week 24 game on Sunday in Ibadan.
