Rotimi: Dolphins can still win the league

Dolphins goalkeeper, Sunday Rotimi believes that his club can still win the Glo Premier League title this season.

The Dolphins captain made it clear that the team ambition is to win the league and players believes it is still possible.

“The task at hand is to win the league. We have been there before and we have done it before so I believe by God’s grace we will do it again,” Rotimi said.

“We also know that anything short of that may not go down well with the sponsors of the club so the boys know they must continue to fight hard to amass points that will take us to the top. We have not lost hope because we have a good team compared to other clubsides.

“Dolphins is a great team and we will keep battling until the end of the season. I believe in the ability of the players and what they can offer”.

Rotimi was named captain of the Portharcourt club after Emah Godwin left to join his home town club, Akwa United at the end of the 2011/12 football season.

After playing a 1-1 draw against 3SC in Ibadan on Sunday, Dolphins are now 8th on the 20-man league table with 33 points from 22 game, 6 points adrift of leaders Kano Pillars who are on 39 points.

Dolphins will now entertain ABS FC in their week 23 encounter slated for August 4.
