Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure will host Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin at the Akure Township Stadium on Sunday.

After a brief Premier League break for the 2013 Federation Cup Round of 32, the Akure Gunners will once again miss prolific striker, Dele Olorundare who was with the home based squad that are preparing for a crucial second leg of the 2014 African Nation Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Ivory Coast in Abijan.

The Ondo State owned-club have failed to win their last two league games having lost one and drawn one against Kaduna United and Warri Wolves while Kwara United have drawn two, lost one in their last three games.

Sunshine Stars defeated Nembe City 2-1 in the Federation Cup on Wednesday and will hope to build on their midweek victory to record a win against the Afonja Warriors who lost out to Akwa United 4-5 on penalties after the regulation time.

The Akure Arsenal are seeking a way up the 20-man league table while the Afonja Warriors is nursing the ambition of closing the gap between Kano Pillars and Warri Wolves who are 1st and 2nd on the log.

Sunshine are 13th with 28 points after 21 games while Kwara United are third with 34 points.

With the ambition of the Akure team to move up and the aspiration of Kwara United to stay top, the encounter will certainly be a different ball game at the Akure Township Stadium on Sunday.
