Kano Pillars’ media officer, Idris Malikawa has heaped praises on the current administration of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the revival of the country Federation Cup competition.

Malikawa whose side are in the quarter final stage of the competition after they piped Gombe United 1-0 reasoned that the organisers of the Federation Cup have brought back its lost glory and glamour.

“Federation Cup is a big competition with its tradition.

“It is a prestigious tournament every club loves to participate in and lift the trophy. It is widely followed by football followers in the country but somewhere along the line the competition lost its glamour.

“But we are happy that the way the present NFF is handling the competition now has brought its lost glory back. And I think the organisers need to be commended for this,” Malikawa said.

“In the recent past the delay in the date, venues and fixtures was always a problem, but today things have changed for the better. We hope it will continue like this till the end of the competition, he said”

League leaders Kano Pillars will trade tackles Warri Wolves for a place in the semi-finals of the 2013 Federation Cup when both side lock horns at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin, on Wednesday.
