Eyimba coach, Salisu Yusuf decided to keep the control of midfield with the likes of Rasheed Olabiyi, Linus Adams and Turba Benjamin without a man upfront.
The Enugu team made several more dangerous attacks in the last 10 minutes of the first half, despite of their rival claiming more possession of the ball.
Dada Bitrus had a chance to took the lead for his side just 11th minute into the match, but his shot went wide over the post.
With 36 minutes left to round-up the match, Rangers player, Odukpe made an attempt but Godwin was there to parry it out for a corner, as Rangers sought for another goal to seal off the match.
Minutes later, Chinedu Udeagha’s strike was palmed out by Godwin.
Eyimba’s opportunity to get the much needed equalizer was blocked by a well organized defence of Rangers whom held on for an important victory against their long time Southeast rival.
The match was watched by a record of spectators and the League Management Board led by Nduka Irabor, the Chairman.
